I have 10 kg to lose.
I tried today my summer dresses on, it didn't feel good.
I took photos with the dresses on, I felt disgusted and still do, while sitting on our sofa.
I am poking my belly.
I feel like crying.
The funny thing is, when I see myself from the mirror
I can't see the kilos. My face hasn't got almost any extra, everything is on my waist area.
That's why the whole body pictures were so shocking.
How comes I let myself to gaing 7kg since I moved to Avignon?
Yes I want to lose little bit more than what I've gained since I moved, to my original weight when I was in good shape.
I hqve started sports again, I eat quite healthy.
I lost few cm from the waist, and 1kg.
It's not enough.
Any recommendations how to boost the weight loss?
It feels like it has been like this for 2 months, and only lost 1kg.
I don't know what I do wrong.
This week's sports
1 hour riding (dressage)
2 hours riding in the forest
25 min/3km running
If someone tells me that riding isn't a sport, please come and try my leasing pony.

Have you ever been in same situation as I am facing now?
Since I need obviously some place to memorize everything and some support, I will keep a track of the weight loss process here in this blog.
Well 1kg gone is one gone!
ReplyDeleteBut I know this fight all too well. I have always battled with my weight. Since March I have been on a new plan. It's the 17 Day Diet - but I'm doing it my way. Diets are always so strict and so penalizing. I knew I couldn't do another "diet". So, I've taken the best from the book and have lost just over 20 lbs. with much more to go. It has been slow, but steady. Also, I do not feel hungry or like I'm restricted from too much.
If you want to e-mail me I'll share more. Can you see e-mails when we post here?
Basically it is a serious reduction of carbohydrates & fats- but not the good carbs nor the good fats. It's kind of like eliminating all the processed & refined stuff. Lot's of lean protein, fruits & veggies, yogurt & kefir daily. Can you buy kefir there? It's like a yogurt drink, but not yogurt.
I've gained about 5kg since moving to France. It's horrible and I'm battling it like crazy. I like my food so I'm just trying to eat less and I don't drink any soda nor do I let any potato chips or biscuits come into the house because I'll eat them all. Plus I've started working out 30 minutes a day/ 5 days a week with as much cardio as possible.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck Sini! x
I have had a few extra kilos throughout my whole life; sometimes less, sometimes more. Right now I'm at a point where (according to BMI) I would have to lose 3,5kg to get back on the normal weight range (and I would be on the high end of that range then...) I am comfortable with my body so I'm not panicing, but I realise it would be easiest to pull myself together now. If I gained 10kg more, it would be much harder.
ReplyDeleteI looooove good food and wine, and I'm not willing to give those up. Basically weight loss is all maths - if you burn more calories than you get, you will lose weight. So I have put together a very simple plan, or should I say "guideline". I do not believe in any special or trendy diets out there (well, I believe any of them will work and drop the kilos, but people always lose interest after a while and gain back the weight). What I'm going to do, and have already started is:
1. Eat everything, but in smaller portions. I stopped using our big dinner plates and I'm using our sandwich-plates now, which are a lot smaller. And before I eat dinner I always prepare and eat a salad first. It makes you less hungry and you won't take such a big portion of that lovely pasta and cheese... :D
2. I move, a lot. I call it moving instead of exercising, because when people want to lose weight and start a mad exercise routine, they get fed up easilly and stop doing it. Also, I don't do any sports I don't like. I love skiing in the winter, and cycling in the summer, and nordic walking in the meantime. I love jogging too, but my knee can't handle it... Oh, and I have been surprised by how much I have to move before the metabolism gets on going! The longest bike-ride I've taken was about 50-60km and the longest skiing 21km. And I try to do something every single day. Sounds horrible, I know (and I don't always have time because of my work), but once you get it started you will keep losing weight even if you don't do anything for a couple of days!
3. I stopped using sugar in my coffee.
4. Instead of both cheese and ham on my sandwich, I use only one of them.
5. For me, goals don't work. If I set a goal "I'm going to lose 5kg", it will never happen. Instead I say "I'm going to cycle 150km during this week because I absolutely love it and the weather is gorgeous and I get a great tan and I can take beautiful photos on the way!" Sounds a lot better, doesn't it..? ;)
6. I do my hair and make-up every day even if I'm not going anywhere. If I look bad in the mirror, I'm more likely to get miserable and just give up.
7. I do "invisible workouts" every chance I get. You know; don't sit if you can stand, don't stand if you can walk, don't walk if you can run, don't run if you can jump... If I drop a spoon on the floor, instead of just picking it up I could squat down three times. The little things do count.
I have even more of these everyday tips on how to lose weight without actually trying too hard, but I wanted to give these examples to show how it doesn't have to be a dramatic life change. It's about getting rid of bad habits that you didn't even realise you had. :)
I wish you the best of luck and determination, and I hope you'll keep enjoying life even with the weight loss going on! (I'm off to clean the windows now, it's a good workout as well!)
I SO feel your pain and think you're taking the right approach with more exercise. I've been working on my stress-eating problem for 18 months now and things are slowly starting to change. Best of look and by the bye - you & your blog are beautiful and we don't see the extra kilos :) indiabanksbistro.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteSo great comments and advices from all of you, thank you! I am still on the normal scale in the BMI, so maybe for someone who needs to lose a lot more than me this will sound like whining. But I don't feel good in this weight, so I know I need the change.
ReplyDeleteSo far, just adding exercises I like (mostly riding Jougo) and eating well has made me lose 3kg. I am loving the idea doing only the sports I truly like, and I have started enjoying jogging much more since I made progress.
I hope all the best for all you xx
And thank you India!
