And I have been waiting. It's been 7 years, since my second riding accident. I was told, that it will heal. I believed that, but it is my fault that it didn't since I didn't work enough to strengthen my spine, muscles and core.
Now, for the past 9 months I have been working out minimum 3 times a week. I see the results that I feel great, lost weight and muscles that actually works. And still.. My lower back snapped on Saturday, while I was bend down to clean the horse's hooves.
I was told that doing sports will fix my back. Will it? At what point?
I don't know what is actually wrong in the back, it's the level of sciatic nerve (or this is just my guess) and the stabbing pain goes from the back until buttocks and leg. Leaving the right side of lower body numb. That's no good.
So I am waiting, at the doctors office and I will try to get my case transferred to specialist and hopefully an MRI for the back.
I hope this will end someday. 7 years. I can't remember how it feels to live without pain.
Ps. My dear Finnish friends, check out that poster in the doctors waiting room!
Oh no! I had a horrible sciactica attack about six years ago (from running) and I still have issues from time to time, but fortunately very minor. I still remember the pain--it was horrible, even worse than when I broke a bone some years later. Hoping you get some relief.
ReplyDeleteI know! I feel like my back pains are more awful than breaking bones too. And I have had quite many broken bones in my body ;)
DeleteThat's terrible! I'm so sorry you've been in so much pain. I hope you are able to get it fixed. But good girl for working out so much! :) I'm back to it as well, it's only my second week and I think I've already done too much! I need to recover! :)

DeleteI hope it will be fixed, in case they find something :) I will have a CT scan in few weeks. My doctor told me that if they don't find any reason for the pain (e.g. herniated disk or something else) she orders that I use a lumbar corset and go (again) to physical therapy, but the injuries in the back will remain and just need to be careful when bending down.
DeleteWhen you find the sports you enjoy, it's always pleasure to do it! :) And now I'm suffering as I can't do sports - times has changed ! ;)
Oh no! I am so sorry, sweetie. I can imagine that it must be very painful. I had a spine surgery when I was probably 10 years old and I still get muscle pain from time to time. Take a good care of yourself, darling and talk to you soon:) xoxo
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane! :) You are sweet! I know surgery might not take the pain away, at least muscle pain can come time to time. Still, if there is something to fix I would propably already choose the surgery. Talk soon xx
DeleteSending good wishes your way! I hope your pain can be alleviated. Thinking of you!
